Ring a bell?? She was on American Idol earlier this yeah… I think =/
Anyways I was rocking out to the tune ‘Alone‘ by Heart (Celine Dion’s cover) in my parents room because it happened to come on and then I remembered an awesome rendition of this song on American Idol by Allison. In my opinion, out of all those girls throughout the seasons of American Idol trying to sprout wings and fly with this song, Allison did the best. AND she’s only sixteen here!!
She performed it twice, once for the judges and again for getting through. I much liked the second performance better. They both rocked but you see.. I like what I like. So I got the second performance :p
At 1.04 minutes into the video she hits a beautiful note, easily missed though as she pulls the microphone away from her mouth at the time. I love the way she controlled herself at 1.32 as well. Watch out for those bits
Enjoy, because it was hell looking for this video.
Unfortunately, this video has disabled embedding so please click this link –> Allison Irahetta – Alone to watch this
Two things:
Ever since I heard the cover of Love has no distance (in my last post) I’ve kinda fallen for it, I love the original and I’ve found some pretty good covers to it aswell. Heres a good one from the very talented, Andrew Garcia (previously featured in past posts :p).
Now, The Shures have been featured in ‘Don’t touch my Ear’ twice before (recently actually) and I have found myself enjoying them more and more every time I listen to them.
A little biography description;
Ashley Burns – The girl, from america usually on the guitar. Centered in most of their videos.
Chris Kennedy – The British guy, usually on our right in their videos.
Gabriel Cabrera – The Australian guy, usually on our left in their videos.
“With their amazing blend of close-knit harmonies, one would find it hard to believe that The Shures have never even met in person… yet! That’s right, coming from three different countries (England, Australia & America) The Shures write and record over the internet. Having met over 2 years ago on a popular music networking site, Chris Kennedy, Gabriel Cabrera and Ashley Burns loved each others voices so much… they decided to join them together to see what would happen. End result… magic. Not letting distance stop them, they used the internet (and their macbooks) to their advantage and started working on demos in hopes of taking this to the next level.
With many plans and opportunities on the horizon, that next level is well within reach! SUBSCRIBE and follow The Shures on their musical journey right here on youtube.”
Please note; The Shures have met in person. The little description above was probably written a while ago. You can find it on their youtube channel.
Here is The Shures singing a cover to Battlefield – Jordin Sparks
Gabriel Cabrera (the on the left singing most of the song) has a really good quality in his voice. And that is one of the reasons I have been drawn to The Shures more and more. Chris has a nice smooth tone to his voice which is very nice to listen to and I love the control Ashley has to her voice. Anyway, this cover was done a while ago as Bad Romance and Tik Tok were their most recent ones and I got them down already
A nice Xmas way to end this post!
It’s Cimorelli with Joy to the World. Cimorelli, the harmony maniacs!!
…when I actually used to watch t.v (sad.. I know) I watched hundreds of different things. And I had a little flashback just now when I watched Beyonce perform live in a Christmas atmosphere. So I youtubed and I found Beyonce getting punked, something that made me laugh.. a lot, back then. *teardrops*
Her face as the tree goes down. Classic. Epic win for Ashton haha!
Not really just a few days… o_O
Anyway I got a OCD kinda thing where if in the same day I post more than one post, passers-by will just take notice of the first post and then move along…….. I mean c’mon guys, SCROLL DOWN!! Haha! Anyway just letting you guys know that will still be doing that HOWEVER not on this post
K, so.. yeah. Just wanted to say I TOLD YOU SO!! Uhm, yeah cos I knew ‘The Shures’ were talented. They really are good. It’s just a Lady GaGa cover will definitely be, well, different. Haha! But yeah, check them out singing Kesha’s Tik Tok. Their cover is more acoustic and sung if that makes any sense..? They really sound good individually and together, I love the falsetto transition too
Leah, Leah.. Leah. Shes good. I mean, I like her voice and her flow. She’s also not afraid to show she is not perfect. She does mess up a bit in her youtube videos. But when she gets it right it does sound real good. WHO CARES about messing up anyway?! She apologizes anyways so we cool. One thing though… she does talk. A LOT! Haha. ‘Tis also cool though.
If you want to skip to just the singing, go to 2.04 minutes into the vid.
Saw this video, liked it a lot. And I swear I blogged it already… or maybe I’m confusing it with the video they did with Jenny Suk covering Watcha say – Jason Derulo. Anyway I have to say, JR Aquino does have a sick voice!! Well done to them again.
Replay – JRAquino AJRafael and Andrew Garcia
Outtakes rock too!
Check this out guys. This is also great =) HARMONY FTW!! oh and I met The Bathroom Girl **giggles!!
Thats all for now! If you want the links to their channels just comment via this post. USUALLY I would post them myself but they are mostly collaborations =/ forgive me.
PEACE!
I feel like good luck and bad luck is fighting over me, hence the title. I’m not going to complain and exaggerate the flaws of my day because everybody in everyday experiences some sort of good luck and vice-versa. I’ll just tell you how it was and how I felt.
Let’s move on.
On Friday night (or 45 minutes past Friday) I ended up in one of the situations I never wanted to be in, ever. Who does really? Anyway I got into a car accident. A few facts;
Other facts will remain unwritten here to avoid the pointing of fingers (swear it was not my fault though O_O)
So I got hit bad and hard that my car swung into the next road.
Good luck: If I was inches further down the road it would have hit the driver seat.
Bad luck: Thats kind of obvious…
OK so I would have written all this earlier you see, but I guess I’ve been lazy and busy trying to sort it out and trying to not worry about it so much. The reason I bring this up now is because I feel bad luck is hitting me harder more and more each day. But I keep my head held high (epic) because I feel like Good luck is behind me and defending me (epic again – should be scripted!! Taylor Lautner to play me!!!!!)
Here we go:
I’m not impressed. But, at least I got a very reassuring phone call from my car insurance company and the garage my car is at. So I have something to schmile about =)
Good day =/
If you look at my previous post you’ll see I got Lady Gaga. So anyway, after that I went on a ‘related video’ chain. Then I stumbled on something that (ok i feel bad for what I’m about to say) I thought was a joke! But really I mean it’s so serious that they’re not serious if that makes any sense?! I started laughing… but then I started listening, and seriously they are not bad at all. I’m kinda glad I stumbled on their youtube channel. I still find them hilarious but they are undoubtedly talented. They are definitely different from most of the other youtube channel musicians and good for them because they play their part well.
Anyway, here is;
Please check out their youtube channel and if you like what they got hit the subscribe button!! The link is here
They do have some pretty good covers on the channel so seriously, check them out!! LOL
LOL still laughing
The music videos are freaky, she is freaky. But you know what??? It works! I am also impressed with her live vocal abilities. She is very talented and versatile, this is my opinion from listening to her music from before and this live performance from the Ellen Degeneres show. Well done to her, and this tune is bangin’! not gonna lie!
Attended a Christening/Birthday party on Sunday and my friends performed. In the video below, my good friends Reyzil Reyes, Diana and Dexter De Leon perform a song by my wife, Taylor Swift – Teardrops on my Guitar. Now I’m not going to lie, I knew it will be good but I didn’t think that it will be THIS good. Not ’cause of their abilities because they are all talented, but because Rey was telling me how she didn’t know all the lyrics LOL!! But I am very proud of them, they did an amazing job and I must say, I haven’t heard Rey perform live in front of people this well before so well done!!
So here’s Dex on the strings, Diana on mouth noises and Rey with the vocals!!
Teardrops on my Guitar – A Taylor Swift cover
It was so good being just the audience!!
ALSO, well done to the secret harmonizer at the end!!
